VITA
Mina Esfandiari (*1985) is a German-Iranian photographer, graphic designer and author based in Hamburg, Germany. In 2012 she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts of Photodesign at University of Applied Sciences Munich and was awarded with the Karl-Buchrucker Preis for her project miyaneh – dazwischen.. Her work centers around portrait, documentary and corporate photography, including commissions from local and international clients (see below). Mina Esfandiari also works on a range of conceptual projects, so far mainly showcasing Iran; e.g. National Geographic's photobook Iran – Tausend und ein Widerspruch (awarded with the ITB Book Award) or Stephan Orth's bestselling travelbook Couchsurfing in Iran. In 2019 she began to explore her "German side" with the project Von B nach B – Begegnungen auf dem Radweg Deutsche Einheit which was published by capybarabooks and as a multimedia exhibition by the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport.
